Bodegas Juan Gil
Intense deep red cherry colour. Powerful in nose, clean and complex. Very attractive fruity aromas, touchs of ripe fruit and reminds of new wood. Well- constituted in mouth, well-structured, lively and tasty, taking shape, well-balanced and very good in presence.
Matching Food: Rices, cooked dish, vegetable, mushroom, stewed meat, sausage, pork, roast meat, red and/or white meat with sauces, grilled meat, short or medium chesse.
Wine Advocate
The 2006 Juan Gil is also 100% Monastrell but aged for 12 months in French and American oak. It was sourced from an estate vineyard with 45 years of age. This purple-colored wine offers superb aromatics of wood smoke, damp earth, violets, and blueberry pie. Layered, succulent, and long, it will evolve for another 2-3 years and be at its best from 2010 to 2018.

International Wine Cellar
Dark purple. Spicy blackberry and cassis on the nose. Refreshingly bitter cherry and dark berry skin flavors are brightened by zesty minerality and firmed by dusty tannins, picking up subtle iron and graphite qualities with air. Finishes with very good focus and youthful grip, the cherry note repeating. I like this wine's energy.

Wine Spectator
This polished red shows black cherry, licorice, mineral and tobacco notes, harmonious and deep, supported by firm tannins. Medium-bodied, well-integrated and stylish. Drink now through 2012.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.
